I am developing a new concept album for the maternity sessions. At this moment its called "The Story of 40 Weeks" but I am sure it will evolve and change names as I delve more into this concept. The basic concept is really simple. We start taking the photos as soon as the expecting mom starts showing her baby bump. We do a mini session once a week and select the perfect photo from that session. That photo becomes the image of that week. The expecting mom has a small job in this also. Once a week she will reflect on the week and the experiences she had and jot down a little note for the baby. Each week until the baby is born, there will be a new photo and a new note to the baby. All of this will be assembled in a 8x8 leather bound book and enjoyed for years by the mom, the baby will also have a great memento of the mother and child journey.
I started this book with my lovely wife and our soon to be second child. We take a photo once a week and my wife jots down a few notes. At the end of all this it will be turned into a 8x8 book for us to have and look back on. Here is a sample of how the pages look like. I will try to post on this blog each weeks pages.

ReplyDeleteAnna are you able to scroll the window to the left. That might work so you can see it all. On the 30th week we didn't decide on the boys name yet but we have a girls name picked out. When the other weeks come up it might be in there.
